Jeevika Shiv is a lawyer and development professional with a keen interest in reflection, learning and self and systems work.She is a graduate of Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi  and has Masters in Social Work in Women Centered Practice and Social Policy and Planning from TISS Mumbai and an LLB from Delhi University  She has worked with the Supreme Court Commissioners on the Right to Food and Centre for Equity Studies where she led the Research and Policy unit till 2014, as well as worked closely with members of the National Advisory Council NAC of the Government of India, foregrounding peoples voices in policy making working on the laws and policies being drafted by  like the National Food Security Act, National Urban Health Mission and the draft bills on disability and mental health and been part of campaigns and movements for equality and justice.She was a Co-Director at ANANDI, Area Networking and Development Initiatives , a feminist organisation,  involved in establishing and monitoring community based programmes and mechanisms for strengthening access to Justice and systems of Governance and entitlements through leadership of women and youth . In this process she worked closely and advocated with the Department of Women and Child,  police, policy makers, Elected representatives , judiciary, Women support centers, Panchayats, district officials and other stakeholders to build mechanisms  and ensure women’s rights were fore grounded.She is also trained in mental health and group relations processes and has a keen interest in understanding behaviours of systems, groups and collectives and the empowerment of marginalised groups.She currently works on legal aid and justice and leadership at the Fair Trial Fellowship Program, Project39A, National Law University Delhi as an Associate Director focusing on marginalised communities criminal and justice and leads the works on empowering young lawyers and social development professionals through the fair trial fellowship to build leadership in the justice space. In 2020 Jeevika was nominated by UN Women as a National Youth Gender Advocate (NYGA) from India as part of the agenda for Generation Equality and has been active as a representative from the Asia Pacific region.
